Working with a married architect and an interior designer duo to create this dream of a stylized backyard was such a joy.
Collaborating with imaginative people who also enjoy gardening and have cute dogs is fun!
Objective and themes: The White Formal Garden
-Adding dark, large-format Italian ceramic tile patio with new concrete pad.
-A very stylized brick trim, coping, and edging detail work to frame out a Zoysia lawn, pathways, and raised beds.
-Large Herringbone Brick step pads leading to the bottom of the property, and a silver and grey sparkly boulder water feature framed in the mix.
- Wide crushed pathways and formal native plantings, a retaining wall, and other privacy screen plantings to enhance this little intimate cove in the middle of the suburban Woodlands.
Plantings: Chinese Fringe Tree, Mexican Plum, Dahoon Holly, Ducher roses, Cephalotaxus, Micron Yaupon and so many white flowering perennials.
This patio extension joined all the outside doorways and was made large enough to fit a 10-person dining table with room for planters.
Water feature bubbler incorporated into the path.
Herringbone step pads
Herringbone, basalt gravel, brick masonry copings for the planters and as always gravel drainage against the foundations.
Patio, walkways, edgings and borders, lawn, gardens.
Permanent window boxes are great for rotating seasonal color.
I wouldn't be lying if I said the whole yard was for these two.
