Imperial Oaks, Spring: Bird Habitat + Pollinator Garden
A blank backyard became a nature-friendly garden: bird habitat and pollinator beds, a custom 10’ x 10’ steel belvedere for Peggy Martin roses and passion vines, a boulder water feature, crushed granite pathways with limestone edging, 18-inch limestone raised beds, a cedar greenhouse and a new Zoysia lawn. Irrigation, drainage, lighting and organic soil systems are all built in.
Plants include salvias, firecracker plant, rudbeckia, milkweed, hamelia, Lord Byron and Walter’s viburnum, buttonbush, dahoon holly, vitex, aloysia, Mexican sycamore and Nuttall oak.
“We had a completely blank canvas of a backyard… After consulting with Cindy, she came up with the perfect plan! She gave us a belvedere, trees, bushes, roses, and an incredible butterfly garden frequented by tons of butterflies, birds and hummingbirds! We don’t even need a feeder for the hummers!”
